Qatar-Tunisia Relation

The State of Qatar maintains distinctive close ties and bilateral agreements with the Republic of Tunisia in many political and economic areas. The State of Qatar, under the leadership of H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani the Emir (at that time), stood by the Tunisian people in their victorious uprising. This Qatar support began since eruption of this revolution until achieving its objectives. HH the Emir participated in the ceremony held at the Conference Palace in Tunis in 2012. This ceremony was held on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Tunisian Revolution.

  • A visit by HE Dr Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah, Minister of International Cooperation to Tunisia in 2011.

  • An agreement to establish a Joint Supreme Committee on the development of relations between the two countries 1994.
  • An agreement on trade, economic, cultural and technical cooperation 1975.
  • An agreement on cooperation in the field of public work's 2010.
  • Several memoranda of understanding on exploring investment horizons. and cooperation in the field of environmental protection, anti-pollution efforts, and vocational training 2012.
  • Several memoranda of understanding on oil refining, real estate, industry, public works 2012.
  • A memorandum of understanding on the recruitment of Tunisian workers in Qatar 2010.
  • A memorandum of understanding on environment, and tourism.
  • A memorandum of understanding prevention of double taxation on 1997, which came into torce in 1999.
  • A memorandum of understanding on the cooperation and coordination between the two ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries 2002.
  • A memorandum of understanding on air travel 1984.
  • A memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of health and agriculture 2002.
